About

Terms, privacy, conduct, and guidelines. This page is meant to be readable and obvious: what you can do here, what we collect, and what behavior keeps the commons fun.

Plain-language note

Ownership in this game is fictional and social.

Terms

Using the site and playing the game.

1) The game is fictional

Claims and ownership are in-game status and storytelling. They do not represent real-world property rights, legal ownership, or official canon.

2) Your account

You're responsible for your login credentials and actions. Don't share accounts, don't impersonate other people, and don't attempt to evade restrictions.

3) Gameplay fairness

Don't exploit bugs, automate abuse, or manipulate ranking systems dishonestly. The goal is strategy and social consensus.

4) Changes and availability

Features and formulas may change. We may modify or pause parts of the game for safety, balance, or development needs.

Currency, payouts, and value

  • Universe currencies are game systems.
  • Payout mechanics may be experimental and can change for balance.
  • Any manual payments described are optional and subject to availability and policies.

Privacy

What we collect, what we display publicly, and what you control.

What may be public by design

This is a social ranking game. Some things are meant to be visible to other players: your username, profile display name/avatar, claims, claim rankings, and public posts.

Account data

  • Username and authentication credentials (stored securely)
  • Profile fields you provide (display name, bio, avatar)
  • Game stats (claims, friends, fans, balances)

Usage data

  • Basic logs needed for security and debugging
  • Actions taken in the app (creating claims, votes, follows)
  • Abuse-prevention signals (rate limits, suspicious behavior)

OAuth and verification

If you connect providers (Google, Discord, etc.), we may store provider identifiers and verification status to support login and trust.

Security and retention

  • We aim to use modern best practices for security.
  • We keep data as long as needed to operate the game, prevent abuse, and compliance.
  • Some public content (claims, posts) may remain visible if it's part of the game history.

Conduct

The rules for interacting with others. This is a competitive game, not a hostile one.

Be respectful

  • No harassment, hate, or threats.
  • No sharing private info.
  • No sexual content

Don't cheat or manipulate

  • No botting, scraping abuse, or vote manipulation.
  • No coordinated brigading to harass or silence.

Keep content game-appropriate

  • Claims should be in-game storytelling.
  • Avoid explicit content

Enforcement

  • Content removal or edits
  • Temporary suspensions
  • Permanent bans for severe/repeat abuse

Moderation can include crowd review, moderators, and automated systems.

Guidelines

Practical tips for writing good claims and keeping the commons readable.

Write claims like mini wiki articles

  • Lead with a clear summary in the first paragraph.
  • Use headings (such as History, Location, Features, Description, References).
  • Be consistent with names; add aliases if needed.
  • Make it fun.

Avoid duplicates

If a property already exists under a slightly different name, prefer selecting the existing one and adding aliases rather than creating a near-clone.

Disputes are normal; be civil

Competing is allowed but not intimidation.

Intellectual property

Universes may reference well-known fictional worlds. Keep content player-created. Do not upload copyrighted material verbatim (large passages, scans, etc.). Summaries and original writing are best.
